Crochet a lovely hat for an infant, toddler, or child. Attach the flowers if so desired.
Finished Sizes:
Instructions given for infant; changes for toddler and child are included.
Gauge: 56 sc = 9 inches
Materials:
- 3 balls of size 10 crochet cotton
- Size F/5/3.75mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
- Tapestry needle
- 2-inch hair barrettes: (optional)
Notes:
- Divide three yarn colors each into 3 balls.
- Use 3 strands of crochet cotton held together throughout.
- Join with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.
Rnd1: With 3 strands held tog, ch 2, 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook, join in beg sc. (7 sc)
Rnd2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join in beg sc. (14 sc)
Rnd3: Ch 1, sc in first st, 2 sc in next st, [sc in next st, 2 sc in next st] around, join in beg sc. (21 sc)
Rnd4: Ch 1, sc in each of first 2 sts, 2 sc in next st, [sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st] around, join in beg sc. (28 sc)
Rnd5: Ch 1, sc in each of first 3 sts, 2 sc in next st, [sc in each of next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st] around, join in beg sc. (35 sc)

Fasten off.
Toddler & Child

Rnds[34-39, 35-10]: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join in beg sc. At end of last rnd, turn.
Rnd[40, 41]: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next st, [2 sc in next st, sc in next st] around, join in beg sc. Fasten off. ([144, 156] sc)
Flower
Rnd1: With 2 colors held together, ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 1, 5 sc in rind join in beg sc. (5 sc)
Rnd2: 2 sc in each st around, join in beg sc. Fasten off. (12 sc)
Rnd3: Join in any st, (ch 4, 3 tr, ch 3, sl st) in same st, (petal), *sc in next st**, (sl st, ch 4, 3 tr, ch 3, sl st) in next st (petal), rep from * around, ending last rep at **, join in beg sl st. (6 petals)
Rnd4: Working in back of petals, ch 3, [sc in next sc, ch 3] around, join in joining sl st of last rnd. Fasten off.
Rnd5: Join with sc in any ch sp, (ch 4, 3 tr, ch 3, sl st) in same ch sp, (sc, ch 4, 3 tr, ch 3, sl st) in each ch sp around.
Rnd6: Rep rnd 4.
Rnd7: With French rose/white, rep rnd 5. Fasten off.

Make 6.
With 3rd color, ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in each of next 3 chs, (ch 3, sl st, ch 2) in last ch, working on opposite side of ch, dc in each of next 3 chs, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st in last ch. Fasten off.
Attach Flowers
Sew 3 Leaves to each Flower.
Sew Flowers to hat or sew Flowers to barrettes and attach barrettes to Hat.
